2020 Big Star Virtual Event

EVENT DATES

The 2020 Big Star Half Marathon, 5K & 1mi virtual event will begin at 7a on Saturday, November 14, 2020.

We will stop accepting times, concluding the 2020 event, at 10p on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

All participants in the 2020 Texas Big Star Half Marathon, 5K & 1mi will receive the following:

  • Big Star Race Shirt (pictured)
  • Finisher Medals (Half Marathon & 5K only)
  • Race Bib
  • Virtual Swag Bag

PRE-RACE CHALLENGES

In the weeks leading up to the Big Star kickoff on November 14, 2020, the BSHM committee will be sharing challenges for runners in both the Half Marathon & the 5K for completion during your training for this year’s event.

All challenges will be based on industry-standard training plans &, if chosen, can serve as terrific metrics for your preparedness for the 2020, & eventually 2021, Big Star events.

EVENT ROUTES

In the coming week, BSHM will announce several Half Marathon & 5K routes around the DFW-area for participants.

We are also happening to have some exciting options to announce for runners in the Frisco area.

Lastly, runners are welcome to complete any route of their choosing that also covers the distance of their chosen event.

All proceeds from the Texas Big Star race go to support local charities.

Since its inception, Big Star has donated more than $250,000 to more than 40 local charities.

OPTIONAL PACKET PICK-UP

Packet Pick-Up will be at the following locations and times. We allow you to pick up packets for your friends and family.

If you choose to pick-up your packet, we will be following all CDC and state recommendations regarding COVID-19.  Please ensure you are wearing a mask when you pick-up your packet and maintain social distancing.

PACKET SHIPPING

All participants will have the option to have their BSHM race packets mailed to them. Should you choose this option, packets will begin mailing on November 9 so that all participants should have their race packets by the opening of the BSHM virtual event on November 14.

The cost of packet shipping will be $10 for all registrants after October 1, 2020.

There will be no shipping charge for anyone who registered before October 1.  For those participants, we will mail out starting November 9 if your race packet isn’t picked up during Packet Pick-up.

RESULTS

At the completion of your chosen event, every participant will simply need to click the button below to submit all of the details of their run & to share them with other runners or on social media via Active.com.

BSHM will also be sharing & featuring runners across our social media platforms in order to inspire & motivate!

(There is no requirement to submit results in order to receive your race packet, including your Finisher’s medal.)
